Since Mr. Smithee is so secretive and camera shy,some people think he isn't even a real person. Well,I have personally met Mr. Smithee several times,we even went and had dinner one night after a day of shooting Piranah 3. There's even a silly urban legend that says a bunch of directors who were ashamed of their work all changed their name to Alan Smithee,I've never heard anything so stupid in my entire life! I met Mr. Smithee once riding an albino alligator out of a storm drain.
Don't tell Roger Ebert or Brian DePalma that it's an "urban legend" that folk use Mr. Smithee's name when they don't wish to be associated with a finished film product, as they seem quite convinced.

Hey Peter,I'm glad you saw the light. For all the other non-believers out there,I know a guy who is building a web page that will have Alan's picture on it! The page should be up soon. I'll be sure to post the address to the page here. I better hurry,because once Alan learns somebody posted his pic online,his attorneys will be sure to have the courts order that it be taken down. Some people think Alan is weird because he's not a camera loving,big-headed show off like Speilberg and all those other stuck up hollywood directors. All Alan wants to do is make his movies,earn a living,and mind his own bussiness,what's wrong with that?
