I know that this came up a few months ago, but I finally had a chance to watch this.

Oh boy, funny as all heck.  The dubbed in humor is often detracting, but watching the people trying their best to complete those absurd obstacle courses is priceless.  The first one I saw had movie monsters vs. advertising mascots.  One of the monster suits was a very good one from "Ultraman."  And, at the end, the last obstacle course was climbing a steep slope while guys in "Ultraman" suits rolled rocks down at them.

The best part was probably watching the poor guy in the totem pole outfit try to cross the stepping stones.  He started to tip and, inside that rigid costume, could never have any hope of not falling.  Seeing him start flapping his wings was priceless, then KERPLUNK!

I'll catch some more and hope that the dubbing doesn't turn me off to watching people try to avoid vampires and falling rocks.

Yeah, I finally got my wife addicted to this show.  Great stuff.  The humor is crude and entertaining as are the obstacles.

Great Stuff.

what are these people running from? they're not they're running to the world's greatest elimination challenge in town.

the new ones are good but the early ones are more in line with this site, cheapness and bad athleticism being the draw more than costumes and stuff.  Like the one where they shoot the soccer ball in the air.  what a stroke of genius.  There is apparently a segment in the japanese version where  they give really lame prizes, like the stuff yu have to guess the prices on in random price is right games.

Lester, good call on the soccer ball and mud portion of the show.  Makes for some great accidents.
