The Border (1979)

THE BORDER (1979) - a.k.a The Border Cop or Blood Barrier. This is a neat little Mexican border film starring Telly Savalas. Being a Telly Savalas fan I really liked this film. The beginning starts out with Savalas and partner stopping a car along the border area and found two illegals straped to the bottom of a surfers auto. The driver takes off for a chase that will make fans of MAD MAX pause in awe. The middle of the film there is an interesting story of Mexicans crossing the border and working in a slaughter house (plays like a real FACES OF DEATH stuff). Savalas gets caught in  the middle of a bad smuggler and a corrupt boder commander and he helps a Mexican friend and his wife in a dramatic border pass. The Movie is made by Europeans and filmed Mexico and the U.S. If you like Telly Savalas check it out. The opening scene is classic Savalas.

I found this DVD at my local supermarket (acme) for $2.99 and just couldn't pass it up. It's produced by Passion.
