Well, to be fair, the only truly bad zombie flick that was released mainstream in the US in the past year was House Of The Dead (as 28 Days Later was amazing, and Resident Evil was fun if you didn't expect a solid game-to-film transfer), so with Resident Evil: Apocalypse and Dawn Of The Dead '04 (penned by the infamous JAMES GUNN, who also penned Scooby-Doo and Tromeo & Juliet) coming out, I wouldn't be surprised if Shaun Of The Dead was pretty good.

I am among the very few who actually liked Scooby-Doo*, and, with the excellent trailers, I have great hopes for the new Dawn.  I have no hope for the next Resident Evil but, then again, I had no hope for the first one and it turned out kind of sort of not bad I think maybe.

I know nothing about Shaun except the name, but it might be good.

*  I don't normally gush about actors, but Linda Cardellini is simply gorgeous.  I know it's not relevant to the discussion, but I felt it had to be said.

Gorgeous.

RESIDENT EVIL seemed to have zombies in it more as an afterthought.  It was more about recreating the video game, which has zombies in it but is not really about zombies.   I'll probably rent the sequel or see it on cable.

I don't know why people keep saying 28 DAYS LATER is a zombie movie, except for the movie having a lot of the same problems as DAY OF THE DEAD.

I'm seriously looking forward to Shaun Of The Dead.  Looks like a hilarious spoof of the zombie genre.

British humor and zombies?  I'm so there.
