I just watched Christmas Evil.  I thought that movie sucked!!!!  Silent Night Deadly Night was WAY better.  I mean I couldn't even see half the movie (which wasn't all that exciting anyways) becuz the lighting was soooooo bad.  The death scenes were weak, the very few there were.  The dialogue was super boring and I still don't know why he flipped and killed people.  And the ending, what the heck??  It did one up SNDN in one thing.  It didn't have a god awful song about warm sides of doors.  In closing I don't think Christmas Evil deserved 3 slime drops, but to each his own!  For Christmas chaos, I recommend Silent Night Deadly Night.

I haven't seen any of the other Christmas-themed slasher flicks (though I am surprised by the number of them), but I can't imagine them being any better than SNDN and its genuinely fuh cupped first sequel. (The third sequel is poor junk and the fourth and fifth aren't really related to the original OR Christmas, except in the weakest of ways.)

Check out Black Christmas, it was directed by Bob Cark who did Children Shouldn't Play With Dead Things, Porky's, deranged (I think), and a christmas story. Black Christmas was probably one of the first true slasher movies from the early 70's that tons of films ripped off (cough halloween, friday the 13th -first person killer perspective, heavy breathing) Unlike SNDN being just a fun body count movie, Black Christmas works more on fear with some really messed up phone calls and errie scenes in an attic. This one blows SNDN (which I do like) and Christmas Evil out of the water most definitely for top christmas slasher.

The one part I love is when they ask him to speak to the children at the Christmas party.  He leans in and tells them something to the effect of "If you are good I will bring you presents, but if you are bad I will leave something horrible in your stocking."
