This is the best and most accurate quote I've heard in quite some time:

"This film could have easily tanked. Today's market is such an infantile market. Everything is geared toward 14-, 15-, 16- and 17-year-olds."

-- Oscar-nominated "Mystic River" director CLINT EASTWOOD, in Newsweek.

The man hit the nail right on the head.
God bless him!

What do you think?

Same thing I've been shouting for years.  It's good to finally get some smart films out there.  Last year was great for this.  We had Mystic River, 21 Grams, House of Sand and Fog, Last Samurai, etc.

I'm getting so sick of the retread of action films and the retread of horror films.  Hopefully this recent startup of smart dramas will continue.  If we get any more House Of Sand And Fogs (which I felt was the best film of last year)  out there, I'll be more than happy.

You know, my wife has not yet been able to drag me out to see Mystic River (the title alone is enough to set off my chick flick alarm), but after what Clint said, I think I'll go willingly.

Andy, I have the opposite problem.  I'm dying to see Mystic River yet my wife will have none of it.

Yes, unfortunately... this is a cold hard fact. Fast & Furious for the young & stupid.
