Am I the only one that thinks this is going to suck with the stars they have in it? All due respect, but I don't think that Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller will be able to pull this off.

This may end up being worse than the "I Spy" movie with Eddie Murphy and Owen Wilson.

No, you are not alone.... that movie will definitely suck. Regardless of the stars involved. Who in the hell wants to see "Starsky & Hutch" the movie? The 19 members of the Starsky & Hutch Fan site?!

Wow, and here I was thinking it wouldn't be that bad...

I saw a vague preview and, whilst it didn't seem like the best movie in the world, it looked entertaining at least.  I don't really care how mindblowingly good a film has to be [come on, this is a B-Movie site!]  as long as i don't sit there in agony the whole time and make me shout out WHY GOD WHY?!? I don't really care.

And for the record, I liked I-SPY.  :P  I guess I'm just easily amused.

Hollywood screenwriter - the easiest job in the universe.  All you need is a television almanac, cable TV, and a lobotomy.

Good points dean and others. I think this is an instant movie to add to what were they thinking? I liked your points also Eirik, just take an old tv script and try to make into a movie. What movie has ever succeeded that was based on a tv script? I can't think of any. I believe the closest were the Brady Bunch movies and that is only because they made fun of it and let it go based on what everyone was thinking anyway. Sorry if I am rambling, still drugged on pain killers today.

Literally?  I think Star Trek: the Motion Picture was cobbled together from one.  Doctor Who and the Daleks and Daleks' Invasion Earth: 2150 A.D. were also based on T.V. scripts.   While not as good as the real thing, they are fairly diverting.

Good movies based on TV series include The Fugitive and Batman: the Motion Picture, the Adam West vehicle.  (Good, of course, being a relative term with the latter flick...)

And how many of these young kids these days are actually going to know who Starsky & Hutch are?

They'd probably say something like, "Were they on MTV?"

Maybe all of them will have to go ask their parents who they are.

Also, there is the up-and-coming "Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," which one could say may be at least PARTLY based on the tv show.

Of course, we don't know yet if it will be any good....    ;)
