What I can't stand is spelling cool as kewl.  That is not cool, it is dumb, consarnit.  Young whippersnappers.  Definitely not the cat's pajamas.

I say "groovy" constantly, and I'm 17. I like to use outdated slang- whenever I try to act up to the minute and hip, I look more pathetic than usual.

I think Bruce Campbell in Evil Dead 2 & Army of Darkness was a big help in bringing the word "groovy" back into mainstream slang.

No, that must be the Italian side of me coming out.

What I can't stand, and I do this myself sometimes although I try not to, is using the word "like" several times in sentence. It was like My So Called Life that like, really like, made me like aware of how like, annoying that like really is.

Another thing I can't stand is "um' or "uh" used 50 times in sentence when someone is speaking. I saw this on the news just recently. Some police chief was giving a press conference and it went something like "We, um have some, uh, leads that we are um, checking out, but uh, so far we um, haven't made much uh, progress." I kept thinking to myself that it doesn't inspire too much confidence if this guy can't even make a statement without fumbling for words every few seconds.

That like is pretty annoying and I think the word Dude can be too especially those shows that have at least one person talking in that stupid sounding "surfer Dude" style and every other word is Dude.

I would have to say that "Baseketball" holds the record for DUDE used the most times in a movie.
In that one scene between Parker & Stone the word dude is used at least 20-30 times!

I have a weakness for the type of slang as heard in 1940 films about the RAF.  "Spiffing", "Top Hole", "Boffo", "Old chap" "Jolly good show" and for expletives "Good Lord" and "Holy Mother".

That's what comes of reading too much Dan Dare as a youth ...
