I revamped the William Girdler site again -- from top to bottom. New homepage, new layout, new organization. It's an illness, really.

http://www.williamgirdler.com/>

To celebrate this redesign, I'm giving away a Sheba Baby DVD. A random drawing will be held October 22 -- Girdler's birthday.

You know: it was only after I finished the homepage that I noticed my homepage graphic boasts a naked woman. It's a tasteful graphic from an Italian Manitou poster, and the movie itself was rated PG. I dunno -- I'm fine with it, but I'm not sure if it sends an 'adults only' message. Any thoughts? I'm serious.

I don't know, Abby.  I can see your point about the naked lady.  Hey, it could put out the "adults only" vibe.  I, myself, think it is an actual tasteful nude.  It doesn't really appeal to prurient interests, so I don't think you have to worry about your site giving out a "Hey you perverts, come check this out" vibe.

On the other hand, there's a freakin' arm coming out of her back.  I think any sexual instincts are secondary to "Good God, there's a freakin' arm coming out of her back!"

I wouldn't worry.  Anybody into low budget movies enough to actually seek out a site dedicated to Wiliam Girdler is not going to be put off by the picture.  Besides, are you really trying to reach a family audience?  Expecting any ten-year olds showing up seeking the history of Girdler?

I think it's a good picture.  Shows you what to expect without projecting a total sleaze-fest.  Then again, I've never seen a Girdler picture.  (Sorry, it's an education gap I'll fill eventually.  Right now I'm stuck on these damn Amityville movies.)

Keep on rockin' in the free world.

Abby,
Love the new design.I found a copy of The Manitou on VHS at a local used bookstore. I wouldn't have known much about the movie or if it wasn't for your site. Thanks again for all your help. Btw the naked woman graphic is not offensive. I don't think people will get the idea that your are running a porn site or something to that effect since she does have a third arm growing out of her back!! I'm watching The Manitou tonight for the first time wish me luck.....chris
