My friend has a X-Box we have noticed a weird problem with it when we play movies on it.The screen will repedeatly lighten and darken. This is a very annoying thing to have happen when you are watching a movie.
Does anyone else have this problem and is there a fix for it.

This happened on my playstation 2 a little while ago - I think when you watch too many films on home video game systems, the motor starts to burn out.

I don't know of a fix, but perhaps there's a forum on X-box.com or something that may help.

While on a journey, Chuang Tzu found an old skull, dry and parched.
With sorrow, he questioned and lamented the end of all things.
When he finished speaking, he dragged the skull over and, using it for a pillow, lay down to sleep.
In the night, the skull came to his dreams and said, 'You are a fool to rejoice in the entanglements of life.'
Chuang Tzu couldn`t believe this and asked, 'If I could return you to your life, you would want that, wouldn`t you?'
Stunned by Chuang Tzu`s foolishness, the skull replied, 'How do you know that it is bad to be dead?'

You crazy nuts, it's because of the macrovision copy protection on the DVDs!

If you have the X-Box hooked up through a VCR or something that may be the problem -- the DVD thinks you're trying to record it's contents and purposely adjusts the brightness/contrast to prevent it.

Hook the X-Box up directly to the TV instead and the problem should be fixed.

Go for an A/B switch.  Plug X-box to one input, VCR/cable to the other.  Output cable goes to the tv.  Be sure to get a switch with a remote control.  It's a pain to have to get up and switch between the two.
