THE BIG COUNTRY (1958) - This is not only a big title, but big landscape and great movie score. Grand Western with great cinematography starring Gregory Peck, Jean Simmons, Charlston Heston, and Burl Ives. The film is about a range war and Peck plays an Easterner who wants to live more peaceful, but proves to be tough in his own way.
HANNIE CAULDER (1971) - Saw only parts of this neat looking Western recently and I can't wait to see the whole film. It stars Raquel Welch who learns to become a gunfighter to avenge some bad deed. Ernest Borgnine, Christopher Lee, Jack Elam, Strother Martin, and Robert Culp also star in this one. I've heard that it was shot in Spain and a company from England produced it. Notice that Christopher Lee is also in this one. Hope it comes back on TV.
PAINT YOUR WAGON (1969) - Saw only the last 30 minutes of this film were the whole town literally falls apart. You can tell the studio put alot of money into this one having put tunnels all through town and the nice musical numbers. Clint Eastwood and Lee Marvin star in this one, but I can tell that it isn't quite my type of Western.
