Where there is a family of robot prople who transform into jet planes or rockets or something.  There is also a little boy who is friends with the little boy/jet, and they have adventures.  I think there were also bad guys dressed in black body suits.  When they were shot they disintefrated and applesauce style goo bubbled out.  ( I might be mixing two shows there)  I seem to remember it being on TBS back in the 70's.

I haven't had any luck on the IMDB, so I figured that with the wealth of bizzare knowledge on this page it might be my last hope!  Help!

It kinda sounds like Transformers, but the disintergrating into a pile of goo doesn't fit.

Mind you, back in the 70's Transformers didn't exist.

It might be Star Blazers, Astro Boy or maybe Robotech.

You're looking for "Space Giants".  There's a website out there devoted to their exploits, though I can't think of the address right now.

I did a quick check with Yahoo and can't find the site I mentioned, but I did find a couple of pages that talk about the show:

http://www.alphalink.com.au/~roglen/space_giants.htm
http://www.yesterdayland.com/popopedia/shows/saturday/sa1685.php

Hope that helps.

Thanks!  I checked out the sites and those are exactly what I was looking for.
I've always wondered what makes someone save something like that for 30 years, and then put it onto a web page.

I guess it's just lucky for us that it happens at all

I loved that show as a kid, used to watch it every day after school, but I couldn't remember the name.

Thanks for the links

I also loved that show too when you guys say the name Space Giants I remember the episode when the Aliens made a clone of the little human boy 's mom. Or she was an alien in the first place but anyway to Scott Davis it was SPACE GIANTS not Star Blazers it was SPACE GIANTS not Astro Boy it was SPACE GIANTS not even Robotech that was in the 80's mind you!
