My friend came up from Raleigh this weekend with a copy of "Jesus Christ:  Vampire Hunter" and "Creatures from the Abyss" for me for my birthday.  We never got around to watching "JC:VH", but "Creatures" was about the dumbest damn thing ever.  If you haven't seen it, check it out if you get the chance.  You'll end up feeling really good about yourself that you're not one of the people involved in that movie.  Unless you are.  Then you should probably be jailed.

We also rented "Cabin Fever".  I still can't figure out whether or not I liked it.  I know I liked SOME of it, but it was really one of the most shoddily written things I've ever watched.  The jury's still out on that one.

Everything's funnier with monkeys.

I also had a significant bad movie weekend with friends.

1) The new Dawn of the Dead on friday night.  It was respectable. It falls short in a few areas but was far better than I thought it would be with how bad remakes have been recently.

2) The Core.  Whee that was fun to pick on.  Not really poorly made but man is the story stupid. Worth a group watch.

3) 1990 The Bronx Warrior.  Wow is this movie low budget.  Surprising it held together for me.  I enjoyed it.  However, not for all if you don't like slow, stupid, and pointless movies. Note: biker gang leaders shouldn't ride 150cc Hondas with big mirrors.

4) We watched the Fifth Element again for about the 15th time.  Still a great movie.  Very under rated.  Mmmm Chicken...Good.

5) The Firing Line with Shannon Tweed.  Very bad.  Despite over 100 people being shot one at a time it was still a boring movie.   It  was slightly amusing to watch the people fighting taking turns shooting eachother.
