House of 1000 corpses.....*spoilers

Well, I finally got around to watching this movie. After hearing that it got dropped by 2 companies, I figured Lion's Gate wouldn't let me down.

Maybe it's just me, but I found this movie to be extremely on the light side when it came to scares and gore! I had seen most of the imagery in Chainsaw (Tobe Hooper's version) and 1000 corpses didn't really do anything for me.

Is there a unrated DVD out there? Maybe mine was edited or something...

No unrated DVD. Seems that although Rob was set on releasing this thing the way he wanted, he has yet to release a DVD with his vision on it.

I'm sure that there will be one eventually though. I enjoyed HOTC a lot, but was too disappointed with the lack of brutality. I do love the direction in the film though. The "execution" scene is amazing. Holding the camera on the scene for an excruciatingly long time, just waiting for it to happen.
