Hey, I'm trying to find some good sound files (wavs or MP3s) from B-movies & cult flicks ('50s-early '70s) and I'm not having much luck. Can anyone recommend some sites that have a good supply? Horror, sci-fi, thriller, biker, hot rod, surfer/beach flicks, juvenile delinquent, etc... the trashier the better! Even old educational/instructional films, newsreels, commercials (radio/TV), stuff like that. Seems all I can find are sites with more modern (and mainstream/Hollywood) films. Any suggestions appreciated!

Thanks,
kopper

there used to be one like this called the "B-Movie Vault" at www.geocities.com/jrgdawg2/bwavs.html but i just tried it and it's no longer there. moved, maybe?

that's the only one i know of although i'm sure there are others. i've heard about an archive site of old educational films too but i don't know what it is.

Earthstation is a good site for nostaligic "educational" videos. They're not free, though.

A friend of mine just told me about this site:

http://www.archive.org/movies/prelinger.php

It's the Prelinger Archives. Lots of educational, industrial, and amateur films and feature films, and it appears they're starting to get more B-grade movies up there, too. They've got a lot of classics, horror, film noir, hot rod, exploitation, etc. These aren't wav files, but the entire films, audio and video! Download the MPEG and use QuickTime Pro to make audio snippets. Looks like I've got some work to do!
