Recently i bought the Bad Taste DVD and have been watching it ever since.  I knew before that Peter Jackson was in it as one of the aliens but after I saw the credits I was amazed to find that he also played Derek! Derek has to be one of the coolest characters ever!  I've been watching his other movies and I think he plays a cameo in every one, what do ya think.

1. The Frightners :  The man Michael J. Fox bumps into with the grim reaper t-shirt.
2. Bad Taste:  Obviously the alien called Robert, not so obviously Derek.
3. LOTR: Fellowship of the Ring: Man with carrot on the road to the prancing pony. (Burps)

I could be wrong, has anybody else seen Peter poping up anywhere else?

He should definetly be in movies more.  It's better than M. Night Shylaman's attempt (in Signs) "hey there's something in my kitchen man!

In the battle scene in front of Minas Tirith at the end of "RotK", he plays the 483 Orc from the left..you can see him wave at the camera when Legolas is riding the Oliphant

I think I saw him in ROTK on one of the ships before the  army of the dead took them over.

And you thought Trek isn't cool.

Watch carefully and you'll see him briefly in all three LOTR movies.

1) you correctly identified him as a local dirtbag in Bree.
2) despite his distinctly non-nordic appearance, he can be seen firing an arrow from the ramparts of Helm's Deep in TTT (it's a closeup on him - but blink and you'll miss it)
3) and trek_geezer is correct, he played a Southron ship's captain in ROTK

All three cameos are about the same length of a few frames.  Hey, if I was making a movie like that you bet I'd do a cameo as something.
