I got rid of all those posts and dropped that IP into the deny pool.

Also, as was noted, I made another batch of regulars into moderators.  Again, as always, please use only as needed.  Besides random idiots like the latest, I probably only have to hide one post a week.  (Usually a random drive by trolling.)

Moderators have their names in bold, even if it is not the message you are currently reading on a standard view of the board.

Just to let everyone know I'm one of the moderators. Now I don't necessarily get to the board every single day, I think i spend more time here on the weekends than anytime and on weekdays i tend to pick and choose threads to read (which is why i don't catch things going on all the time since i don't always read every single thread..at least not right away)  I go through cycles like everyone ;-)

if there is EVER anything you need removed, please do not hesitate to send me an email.  My email is 112614.1577@compuserve.com and also on my profile. I've done so in the past on request.

I DO check my email every day after work and several times in the evening so I would definately get on it as quickly as possible, as I'm sure anyone else here will try and do who is also a moderator. With andrew making a few more, i think this board will be better covered.

Susan makes a good point.  If a mod is needed and there's no-one around, my e-mail is ebolamonk@yahoo.com

Yeah....whenver I've made a total ass out of myself on here and wrote a thread that doesn't really belong, I've e-mailed Susan to delete them.

You've deleted 4 or 5 of mine haven't you Susan?

Yeah Yeah I know I stick my foot in my mouth sometimes!
It's been awhile though.
I've been a good boy lately.

Ash - maybe not that many? But anytime someone has a request, whether it's someone else posting something offensive or you posted something that you suddenly realize you do not want on that board under any circumstances...i'm here for ya!

I actually have past experience doing this which is coincidental. I used to work for a couple of forums on compuserve over a span of 7 years as a Sysop...which meant i did everything from write forum rules, took care of technical issues but also cleaned up the message boards.  I hope nobody here goes hog wild with it tho, i won't remove posts that simply have profanity unless it's done at someone in a vulgar way..since i'm gulity of cussin ;-)

I was kinda surprised to be appointed one, but if you need something my email is visible in my profile.

Susan, does that mean you have all the dirt on everyone who wants their posts removed?  You could use it as a bargaining tool:

Possible Scenario:
Susan: "Ash, do my bidding or I'll tell all your net buddies about your post about your bad experience playing nude twister! Mwahahahahhaha!''

Ash: "NOOOO! You evil wench!  I mean, my will is yours to command master..."

Man, being an evil overlord would be fun!

So dean, if we were in a superhero comic you would be trying to convince me to use my powers for evil and not good? lol

i dunno, dark overlord does have a nice ring to it....

Being appointed a moderator came as a surprise to me too. I started reading messages and noticed the extra commands, so I emailed Andrew to make sure it wasn't a mistake. I can't see myself taking any action unless it's something like the recent fake Kory incident, or someone wants one of their own posts removed, as others have mentioned. Although in such cases, you can always just edit the post yourself and change it to something else.

It's great to see you now have MODS in action. It certainly does make for a bump in the road when you have hateful trolls posting on your forum. Good job ladies and gentlemen.

I've been away on vacation an haven't had the time to get back on the messageboard since returning, so I missed the last one. I've only deleted two topics as moderator. They seem to hit on weeks when I'm away for a couple days. Someone always comes to the rescue.
