The Indian Fighter (1955)

THE INDIAN FIGHTER (1955) - Good Western starring Kirk Douglas as Johnny Hawk. The action was ok and the inter-racial relationship of Douglas and the Indian maiden was actually the highlight. Douglas chooses between a white pioneer woman and the Red Cloud's daughter (played by an Italian actress Elsa Martinelli). In the end they float down stream together after saving the fort from a certain slaughter. The fort was a rather expensive looking set.  Lon Chaney Jr. also played a villian in this film with Walter Mathau. There is a minor role for Nathan Hale as well. One of the better 1950's Westerns.
