The first half , fo me, was by-the-numbers plotting, and too little emotional connection with the Monster Fodder...er, Disaster fodder.
Pregnant wife trapped in Elevator, check...evil corperate honcho, check...self rightious news gerbil? Check.
Plue ...CGI semi! and not enough scenes of modern landmarks getting trashed.
Come on, thats what we want...just admits it.

that movie sucked badly Randy Quaid was amusing but the CGI was terrible and there were so many annoying cliches!
