hey friends.

my pals and i watch bad movies as a form of recreation and entertainment.   well recently we picked up a movie entitled 'brain machine' out of a used movie bin from a local grocery store.  it looked like a pretty typical bad movie and we were excited to view it.

when we got it home and took it out of the case there was a giant sticker that covered the entire front of the cassette that said something about using the tracking to get the best picture.  we didn't really think anything of it and stuck it in the vcr.  the movie that began playing seemed bad enough and at first there was nothing about it that made us believe it was NOT Brain Machine but it didnt seem like it was going anywhere with the concept of a brain machine and what was going on didn't make sense with the description on the back of the case.  soon enough the movie took a turn for the weird.  there were scenes of female masturbation at first, and then soon enough it turned into crazy scary werwolf porn.  the scenes went from females running through a forest either being raped by this bear-like giant-penised mammal or having consensual sexual relations with this bear-like giant-penised mammal, to females humping bed posts and having sex with a darkskinned butler while children slept in a closet next to the bed.

by now we had figured out that the movie that came in the case was not brain machine.

we took the cassette out and carefully ripped the sticker off.  below the giant "tracking" sticker we were suprised to find the label to walt disney's 'cinderella.  so not only was this not brain machine...it wasnt even originally brain machine!  it was cinderella and someone taped werwolf porn over it and it somehow got into brain machine's case, sold to the grocery store, and then resold to us.

we're trying to figure out what this werwolf porn is, just out of sheer curiosity...so my question is this...Does anybody know of any movie where a giant bearlike thing is chasing women through a forest?  i forgot a lot of the details of this film but from what we can tell the story takes place in the late 1800's to the early 1900's based on clothing and vehicles and stuff.  it began with a nervous heavily-bearded man milling about and ended rather abrubtly with the bear thing and a female romping in a grassy clearing.

if anybody has any clue what this film is, or if you have an idea but you need some questions answered about it please let me know!   we really want to know the name of this thing.

thanks so much for your time,

This would be "The Beast," or "La Bete" in the original Polish, directed by Walerian Borowczyk.
A big ol' honkin' 3-disc special edition DVD just came out, available from Amazon, DeepDiscountDVD, or wherever you prefer to get your discs from.

Ah yes La Bête. Perhaps the spouting 'member' of the beast would earn a place in the silly special effects lists.
This is one of the high points of the 'artistic erotic movies' of the seventies, as exemplified by the shots of snails on shoes during the rape scenes. I'm sure it is supposed to have some deep meaning. If I remember correctly, it is all about a wedding which is called off when it is discovered that the groom to be has hair all over and a tail, being the offspring of said rape scene, or something. Borowczyk later went on to direct things like Emanuelle 5 (stay well away from that one).
Curiously La Bête has Guy Tréjan in it, a very well repected French actor at the time. Either he was lured by false pretences or he trouble paying his bills.

You might want to take it back to the store where you bought it and at least let them know they got ripped off, too.  Some folks might not be as amused as you were to discover 'porn' on a tape not properly labeled of it's contents.
