SW Holiday Special

STAR WARS HOLIDAY SPECIAL

I love the old StarWars-Trilogy since I watched it for the first time (maybe 15years ago) but I was really shocked last week, when I heard about SWHolydaySpecial.

Here in Germany this movie (this hulk of a movie!) is absolutely unknown - I think even 90% of the SW-Fans don´t know about it (only the hardcore-SW-freaks).

I downloaded it Immediately and watched it with two of my friends
- man, that was exquisite bad-taste-entertainment !!!

 What I want to know is:
1.
For this site is called "badmovies", do you like this movie or not?
(Obligatory question: do you think this is a good-bad-movie or bad-bad-movie?
2.
Me, I Iike it much, and, compared to this new Episode -1, it is a "real SW-Part".
Which charracter do you think is more  
a) annoying, b) embarrasing, c) bad-taste, d) an insult to an eyesore :
                                  little ANAKIN or hairy LUMPY ?

Between those two, definitely Lumpy. Although, Itchy and his porn is a close second. Leave it to TV producers of the 70s to conclude that since a character was known as 'Chewy', calling characters Lumpy and Itchy would be appropriate.

Still, the most embarrassing addition to the Star Wars Universe has to be Harvey Korman.

I might see if there are any SW fans I can inflict this special on this year. But it's so long and slow and painful that I don't know if I can watch it more than once every couple of years. I treated my wife to it last year, and she finally understood what I meant when I told her it's awful to watch, but impossible to look away. It's just so fascinatingly bad that it hooks you.

Ohhh this is one ugly piece of made-for-TV cinema.  It almost defies description. If one takes the Star Wars universe seriously, this is not for you!!

There's a great site I'll have to post the address to later (once I get home) that sells the Star Wars Holiday Special on DVD. I don't know how legal that is, but I suggest buying one while you can... It's great quality (much better than the VHS version I bought off Ebay).
