PROJECT MOONBASE (1953) - This is the best of the 50's space flight films in my opinion. The film stars a Donna Martell who reminds you of Denise Richards character in
STARSHIP TROOPERS. Martell and two other crew members are the first to land on the moon. One of the crew is a sabatur who dosn't make it, but does cause the ship to be stranded on the moon before he dies. Well, they end up getting resupplied from a space station commanded by Dr. Bellow of
I DREAM OF JEANIE fame. The two remaining crew members get married on the moon and create the first moonbase. I really liked this film and thought it more entertaining than
DESTINATION MOON and
ROCKETSHIP X-M. I read that the sets were later used for
CAT WOMEN OF THE MOON
