I first saw this made for TV movie on TV (scarry huh) and although it was interesting, I only saw half of it, comeing in late and quickly dismissed it from my memory (finals and such comeing up). Recently I saw it on the local rental racks, and rented it. Its Great! Its so bad its even entertaining to watch alone.
Plot synopsis: Yes, there was a weak plot. Guy's sister enrolls him to win a MTV spring break contest type thing, and entire high school heads off to a "private Island" for the untimate senior trip. The island just happens to be a former h-bomb testing site, and home to 4 giant ants, 1.5 giant praying mantisus, one very depressed scientist, and a dozen or so "natives". So the queen aunt flys off w/ carmen, and guy goes after her to save her from certain doom. Oh yeah.. active volcano.
if you thrive on bad acting, unlikely situations, cheesie special effects, and carmen electra, (even if you claim all that, and still hate reality TV) this movie is well worth renting. I can't give it the praise it diserves w/o saying its bad, but it is bad, and if I had to give up all but 10 of my DVD's, I'd keep this one (and tremmors, tremmors2, tremmors3, tremmors 4, eight legged freaks, the mummy, the mummy returns, evolution, and grosse point blank)
