I checked out a vhs copy of this movie from the public library (I wasn't about to rent it at the video store) and got a good laugh.
First of all the movie essentially has NOTHING to do with the previous Halloween movies. The acting is hammy at best. The "romance" between the two main characters is so contrived and rushed and unbelievable. The storyline makes no sense at all.
Furthermore, the kids seem so interested in 3 unremarkable Halloween masks. Granted, this all takes place in the early 80's, but I can't see how kids went crazy for those masks. And what else is funny is that whenever someone turned on the t.v., surprisingly the Halloween mask commercial was on. WHAT CONVIENCE!
But you gotta love its jingle: "Eight more days to Halloween, Halloween, Halloween... SILVER SHAMROCK!"
