Anyone see this movie?

I've been dying to see it. I hear it's hokey, but not so bad it's unwatchable. I guess the guy that directed this movie directed Logan's Run.

Anyhow, no video rental place in my area carries it.

I'm afraid I'll have to buy a copy off of ebay if I want to watch it.

I have it on VHS. It's fun, kind like the Batman TV show.  Ron Ely is Doc. It actually rode in on the post Sting nostalgia wave with the Great Gatsby .

In the 1980s I used to work in a video store and we had a VHS copy.  I watched it a couple of times.  It is pretty bad, but I'm still waiting for the DVD release.  By the way, Paul Gleason (the principal from THE BREAKFAST CLUB) is in it!  He plays Johnny.

I had a roommate when I was in graduate school, who was a big fam of "Doc Savage," having all the paperbacks, and this was one of his favorite films.

I on the other hand . . .

Which is surprising, as the writer/producer for me was George Pal, who wrote/produced/directed such sci fi and fantasy films as "7 Faces of Dr. Lao," "The Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm, "The Time Machine," "tom thumb," "The War of the Worlds," "Destination Moon," etc., etc. And, indeed, it is the only film of his, which I have seen, which I did not enjoy.

I meant to include him in my post but got sidetracked. There is a scene where the characters are awakened by Doc Savage fighting a flying snake in another room. The characters all run to the door to try and help. When Paul Gleason runs in, I always think, "What's the ruckus? I heard a ruckus!"

I vaguely remember Doc Savage. It's been too long since I've seen it. The only reason I even bothered to post is because if you liked Doc Savage, you have to get Jake Speed!!! It's a MUST for every bad movie collection!!!
