MONSTER OF THE UNIVERSE (Philippines 1987)
aka "The Magican"

The film starts with a long introduction scene. You see the Philippine jungle, you see natives. Then you see a village, the market and there is magic show.
So far so good, but something is wrong, something doesn´t fit with all this (too long and boring) scenery. Then you got it: they play "Jingle Bells" as introduction song - for five minutes!!!

I know that it is ridiculous to make fun of movies that were made in under-developed countries such as the Philippines. But ultimately bad taste/ trash horrors are a tradition there... it seems they like them really. For me it seems they make this movies like they planned them - really, really bad!

So what´s going on in this flick.
The main protagonist is Jamir, a travelling magician. He is supported by his wife and an joung assistant. In one of his magic shows (the audience: five natives) a malheur happens - his daughter and wife disappear. Oh, I forgot to mention that he is not magician we know - he has real magic forces.

The ghost of his father tells him, that a witch he (the father) once banned, wants to take revenge on him (Jamir). The following scene is a highlight of bad taste entertainment: you see a speaking TV with a head and long ears that makes sound like "WAH-WEH-WAK WAGGA!!!" - the TV shows Jamir on the screen and seems to talk with a Chimpansee-Man who makes "Mui Mui Mui Mui Muiiii".
This ridiculous scene is very long...

These two fantasy-figures are servants of the bad witch. She has many other servants like pig-men, moss-men, liliputans, dragons etc.
I cant´tell all the stuff happening in the movie but whenever you´ll have the opportunity to buy, download or lend this film - do it, some parts are very boring but some are big fun!  
 
Holy s**t was this movie bad!
But I liked it...
