"Bound" was what the Wachowski brothers did before
The Matrix. It's a crime drame about a woman, Violet, who wants to get away from her boyfriend, who's in the Mafia as a money launderer (literally sometimes). She enlists the help of her new love interest, a woman just out of prison (for robbery) to attempt to steal $2M in cash from her boyfriend and get it blamed on her boyfriend's rival in the gang.
Joe Pantoliano does a really good job as Caeser, the boyfriend and his alternatives between being cold and calculating and a bit manic as he tries to figure out how to not get blamed for the missing money is very good. Jennifer Tilley as Violet...her voice bothered me and I'll admit that she sounded a bit too childish to be delivering her lines. I found it hard to really buy into her and Corky falling in love and being willing to risk and go through what they did after so little real interaction. The drama in the middle of the setup for stealing the mony and then the after effects of trying to get away were the best part. I found the ending a bit anti-climactic, though, after the good setup. Some really interesting camera work throughout
