Our families last trip to Ashland Oregon ended with the now traditional trip to the town's Mom and Pop store "DJ's Vidoe"

To help them out (though each time I ask they say "business is good") I buy about 8-12 movies that they're selling off (movies that I don't see at Hollywood Video or Blockbuster)

I'll get to the point. One movie I bought was "Class of 1999 II: The Subsitute" Now I've heard and read brief reviews of this trilogy ( Yeah you could call it that) and some people liked them and some people didn't like them. Some liked the first two and some hated the third.

I've watched "1999 II" and I liked it, I was pretty well entertained. During the movie they showed clips from the first "1999" where they had cyborgs teaching classes with high deliqunte rates. The cyborgs killed students and I liked the effects of the cyborgs. Now I want to check out the first two movies.

What do you guys say about "1984" and "1999"? Any good or should I skip. (I bet even if all you say they sucked I'd still check them out)

I'm just fishing for opinons.

I just saw Class of 1999 II: The Subsitute about a week ago and really enjoyed it too.  I want to track down the other two myself. I say go for it Dave and get the other two.

Just went to Ashland, myself, Dave.

Where do you live?

(Olympia, WA, here.)

Did you see any plays?

And what are these movies about?

Zapranoth,I compared to where you live. I'm right next door to Ashland. We're in Eugene Oregon we saw the plays:  Love's Labours Lost (okay play I followed it pretty well), The Belle's Stratagem (my least favorite of the three, I kept falling in and out of it and loosing track), and Napoli Milionaria (my favorite this trip, I followed it from start to finish)

Do you mean the three "Class" movies? Or all the movies I've bought from DJ's? I'll answer the first on now.

From what I've read the first one ,Class of 1984, is a revenge movie. Where a gang of punks kills this one teacher wife and now he's after them. Yep it's a revenge flick but I've heard good things about it and it looks so 80's!

The second one, Class 1999, seems to take a different spin. Now it's more sci fi where they get teachers that are cyborgs and they kill the delinqute students. I liked the Cyborg effects that were shown in clips from the third movie.

Speaking of that one, Class of 1999 II, it's about one last cyborg that contiues to kill students at a school in california. Meanwhile a near pointless agent tries tracking him down and wants to replicate this last cyborg (or is he?)

That's about it ,Zap.

The series of movies is not art by any means but they definitely are fun. I say get them if you can, I doubt you'll be disapointed.

I'll put it on my list, after, of course, "The Legend of Fong Sai Yuk, Part II,"  and "The Brain that Wouldn't Die" which is sitting here on my desk waiting to be seen.

I lived in Eugene for years.  :)  Went to the U of O.  Saw many bad, bad movies at the Bijou.
