old '80's movies on HBO

Way back when on HBO,  there was a movie called "Maganini"  I think.  It was about a big, black or aboriginial woman in the jungle somewhere.  I don't remember much except she died at the end and was burned.  I remember we watched it over and over as kids and it came on once after "Dot and the Kangaroo" which makes me think that Maganini was an aboriginie.  Yes, I know I'm strange but I'd love to get a copy of this movie on DVD or VHS to give as a gift to my mother or brother since we're the ones who watched it over and over and over.  
So am I the only one to ever see this movie?  Can anyone help me out?
