Now this looks like a great new superhero.  Just imagine a geek who discovered the perfect mixture of clothing to generate a static charge.  Granted, he needs to get next to the villains (who will probably have firearms), but these things can be taken care of by "creative" writing.

The story on Yahoo!:

Holy s**t!
40,000 volts!

Did that guy do this on purpose or was it purely an accident?

This is pretty darn funny!  It even happened in my State, which is even more fun.  Our very own lame superhero!  I really have to watch the news more often [I haven't the last few days] since I would have loved to see pictures of this super-charged electro suit.

I even like the title of the article: "power dressing man leaves trail of destruction"

I can just imagine this guy planning on going to a club, completely oblivious to the electricity he is generating, and looking at himself in the mirror saying "I look hot tonight, I'll be a regular chick magnet in this get-up!"

Static-man!!

To defeat static man, you need only turn the hose on him. BZZT!

I am not sure about any superhero who can be defeated with a shot of fabric softener.

Ah! But how many supervillains are so into laundry that they carry around fabric softener? I would imagine they are all so busy plotting world domination that they'd have minions to do their laundry.
