Try this out:

http://www.compfused.com/directlink/957/

It took me two tries but I did manage to get it once I stopped to think (which is quite difficult for me).

I got it on the first try, though I have no real idea just exactly what I did. I guessed at almost every step. Fun, though.

I also got it on the first try.  It will help if you've ever done any computer programming.

Fisrt try here as well. Cool game. It does help in the end if you know rgb hex code and remember that Windows has a calculator included.

If anybody finds a place I can download this to add it to my own site, let me know.

I have no programming experience other than CAD/CAM (which didn't help here) and BASIC from the early 80's. I solved it with common sense and basic math knowledge. Ash, just see what the buttons do and think about it, I know you can do it.

Tricky, since I haven't done basic maths in a while, but I figured it out eventually...pain in the ass though, I don't know why I torture myself like this...

I used odinn7's advice, and looked outside of myself.  Once you achieve a Zen like state, the pieces will come to you, as will the meaning of all things to do with nature, life and why men have nipples.

That or look at the patterns...

Logic has no place here!   This is a place of no logic!!!

I mean, look at some of these movie synopsis taken from the reviews on this site chosen entirely at random:

*Tomatoes suddenly become psychopathic killers

*John Agar is taken over by a huge and sexually deviant space brain!

*Genetic scientist creates chicken eggs that infect women, causing them to become pregnant with dinosaurs.

*William Shatner and Tom Skerritt must stop a satanic cult led by Ernest Borgnine and John Travolta (no, I'm not joking).

*Canada is invaded by hopping brain monsters.

Logic has no place here, you should know better than that dammit!

That and my math skills are pretty crappy too...

Actually, I tend to be extrememly analytical, picking apart most things that hove into my field of view.  This is part of the reason I enjoy bad movies.  I think most of us have had a good time ripping apart a bad movie, pointing out its inconsistencies and general flaws.  Well, that requires a good grasp of logic and deduction/induction.  So congratulations, watching bad movies makes you smarter!

But what I really enjoy is a movie like Troll 2 which fails to make sense on so many levels and continually defies any sort of logic.  Watching a movie like that can be pretty boring if you just sit back and view it like you would a brain-dead sitcom.  But actively trying to make sense of the whole thing and asking questions (such as "Who in the world did they think would find this entertaining?") brings about a sort of mental frisson that you can't get from anything other than watching something really, truly awful.

Ah, but trying to make sense of it isn't using logic, because the logical answer is no-one would find these sorts of films entertaining!

Who am I kidding?  You need a hell of a lot of mental fortitude to sit through an entire screening of something truly awful...  it's the only sane way to go about it!

But that's the problem.  If nobody would find these films entertaining, why were they made?  The filmmakers have to be at least trying to make their money back.  And if they are, how can anybody be so woefully misguided?

A lot of it is just failed execution, but what, in my previous example of TROLL 2, are they thinking?

"Hey, Bob, we need to spice this film up.  Can we throw in some sex?"

"Good idea, Ron.  But we should throw in an ear of corn, in keeping with our vegetarian theme.  It would really help to keep the movie a cohesive whole."

"We're making movies for vegetables, we're going to be millionaires!"

Anyway, on to quiz hints.  The first combination is a simplified version of that old game mastermind.  The lights indicate that you have a correct number, but not necessarily the number above the light.  There is a pattern, but if you change the numbers one at a time you can brute force it.

Second is a magic square.

Third is binary, but you don't need to know it.  Flick the switches.

Fourth is tricky if you don't HTML, but what number would you expect to represent black?
