Ok, this has been bugging me for years and I figure this is one of the best places to ask, so...

About 10-15 years ago I saw a movie(it may be older than that, I don't recall) and the only part I remember about this movie is towards the end the main protagonist is going through the enemy base and having security doors fall on him.  Everytime a door falls on him(twice, I believe.  One arm and one leg) that particular body part turns into that of a robot, or something similar.  At the end he is in a room that fills with a poisonous gas and he completely transforms into a robot-thing.

I know that's not much to go off of and it might be altered significantly from 15 years of time passing, but if someone can point me out in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

Was it a Japanese movie? If so, it might be Tetsuo: Iron Man or the sequel, Tetsuo II: Body Hammer. That's the only ones off the top of my head.

I went and looked that up and No, it's not Tetsuo.  That one seems to be more of a horror-type show and this was, if I'm remembering correctly, possibly a Disney-type movie for the whole family.  Sort of along the same line as I-Man only with a robot-thing.

Wow!  Someone else saw that movie and remembers it!

Sorry, I don't have any idea what it was, either, but I remember exactly what you describe.  He also had a laser in his finger.

It was a made-for-TV movie that aired sometime in the mid-80s.

Ok, at least I've now got verification that the movie did actually exist. Over the years I've been beginning to think that I imagined it.
