ONMYOJI (2003) - Very good Occult Japanese period film set in fuedal Japan. This film is subtle and better than HARRY POTTER films in my opinion. ONMYOJI (2003) played on Showtime Beyond tonight. This is the sequel of the ONMYOJI (2001) which I have not seen yet and I hear it's even better than the sequel. Check it out I think you will like it.

TWO-LANE BLACKTOP (1971) - Excellent cross country road film similiar to VANISHING POINT (1971). Strange both films where made the same year. The look of this 70's film really sets it apart. Warren Oates is very good in this movie. Thanks to those who recommended it back when I saw VANISHING POINT. It played on Sundance Channel the other night.

HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE (2005) - It was a bit more entertaining than the last Potter film. The kids are getting older and the film plays to this idea. We had a great time at the film. Only five people in the theater and I was making all the surprised facial expressions of the people in the film when someone makes a grand entrance at Hogswarts School. When the Romanian team shows up you almost have to say "Wow they are great" with associated facial expressions. We had a blast at this one. Other than that it was your typical Potter film.

Actually after reading the reviews of ONMYOJI at imdb.com I'm not sure if I saw the original or the sequel. My daughter watched it with me and she said it was made in 2003. That would be great because I liked it a lot which would probably mean that the original is an even better film to seek out.

I actually preferred the "Onmyoji" sequel. It's odd that I like "Onmyoji" at all, because I usually don't like newer Japanese live action cinema. (One of the other few exceptions is the newest "Zatoichi", which I reccomend strongly)

Thanks for replying Tamamushiiro. Because ONMYOJI is a good film. Again I'm not sure which one I saw but I liked the whole film. I might even purchase this one if I find it. Some of my other favarite Japanese cinema are:

Kibakichi
The Seven Samarai
Ran
The Blind Beast
Heaven and Earth
Battle Royale
Versus
Ninja Wars
Wild Zero
Street Fighter
Manster

And the many many Toho type films produced from 50's into the 70's. There was another giant moster company in Japan, but I don't recall the name at this time.
