Ron, I don't think you could out-debate anyone, you just rant.

I already did, dear.  :tongueout:

I guess I missed when that happened, RC.

You miss a lot of things, I reckon.

No. He is not one of the most EVIL people who ever lived.

C'mon, man.

This thread is just getting stupid.
Nobody can think of a serial killer or political despot? The last couple have been Jesus and Sven.
AH! I give up. List whoever you want!
And when I half to say those words in the same sentence, you know sh!t is getting surreal.

Well, RC, it's not that I could tell if you were drunk but you have to admit, the odds were not unreasonable that you could have been. Actually that news disappoints me since you're usually only mean to me when you're drunk and are sometimes downright sweet.

Instead of the absolute prick you can be.

...John, if you care to cite, in private, exactly how I am misrepresenting fundamental Christian  doctrines repeatedly clarified to me and my classmates in theology lectures by a Jesuit scholar with double doctorates, please feel free, but to say I'm wrong and then offer no other counterpoint doesn't bring anything to this hijacked discussion. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is available online and it might help broaden your familiarity with the faith you think you're defending if you take some time to study exactly what the catechism says on this matter.

Evelyn:  Shshsh.  I never said "wrong" or "misrepresent".  "Hijacked"?  By WHOM?  And don't confuse your argument with RC as having anything to do with me.  "Spitting on the sidewalk" "child rape"... I don't care for those remarks.  They are arrogant, not clever.  What do you illustrate regarding faith, devotion, sacrifice?  You show a cocky attitude fraught with doubt.  Then you try to make something else out of it, tack it on like it's a game of tag.  Broad statements also take broad assumptions and both of you make broad assumptions.

I'm sorry , John, if I made "broad assumptions".

I'm all done with this line of conversation. It goes nowhere.

f**k all this.
Peace, man.

And peace to ER. Believe it or not, I like you a lot.

Sorry, you're all wrong. The answer is: Jesus.
Why? Because Jesus took on the sins of the others, meaning Jesus was guilty of treason, murder, child rape, theft, bestiality, watching the BBC without a license, spitting on the sidewalk, you name it.
What? Didn't you guys ever spend thirteen years in Catholic school?
That is a purposefully ignorant depiction of a Catholic tenet.
".... He takes on the sins of the world...." Is said in every Mass, John. Don't you pay attention?

You are pedantic, and mistaken.  Jesus taking on the sins of the World does not make him EVIL. Your original premise is a misnomer.  Capiche?

86. OLIVER CROMWELL
Careful or indy will tell you why Cromwell was the sort of guy you'd want living next door to you.  :bouncegiggle:

Where I come from, when someone wants to say something is drastically awful, the term often is, ".....worse than the part of Hell where they've got Cromwell..."
