yeah King Crimson's 70s run of albums is pretty great, hard to pick a favourite... Larks Tongues and Red in a joint tie maybe

Gentle Giant can be a bit of a harder prog pill to swallow, I guess 'The Power And The Glory' might be their most accessable album. would recommend

I'd go with "Lark's Tongue" but I really love "Red" and "Lizard" (which a lot of people hate).

I didn't dislike it as such but that one took me a few attempts to get into... got a kind of medieval folk feel.

"WeirdOs" by O. Now here's something different. The band's basically a percussionist, a baritone sax, and a producer. The sax is often fogged up so that it sounds like an electric guitar. It's unclassifiable, but uptempo and there are a lot of nods to metal and punk. I like it! Not really a bad cut on the disc.

"Proxy Music" by Linda Thompson. Linda can't sing anymore so she recruited guests to perform her new compositions. Pretty good.

Can't find a copy of the original soundtrack; this is my 2nd "inspired by" album.

The cover makes it look like jazz, but it's actually ambient.

so apparently I have been putting off listening to this for the past 31 years. today was the day. found it for £1 in a charity shop

It sounds 100% like I expected. a bunch of absolutely straight ahead covers in a GnR stylee. doubt I'll ever intentionally listen to it again ...no pasta la vista

"Love Heart Cheat Code" by Hiatus Kaiyote. ALterrnative R&B, really creative and well-done even if it's not really a genre I dig. Check out her trippy cover of "White Rabbit" if you're curious:  https://youtu.be/67Cw0OoCnIM?si=WPoNfRIGc3OZRX5Z
