I don't know much about prog rock but these guys make Rush sound like the Velvet Underground. It came up in my youtube shuffle and I thought it was from Japan (a compliment?) but it's actually a couple of Americans. They are on a quest to make the most complicated music ever.

This album is apparently much cleaner than their earlier efforts, which were borne out of experience in death metal. I don't know exactly what genre it is but I did enjoy it. Was kind of surprised to see some scathing reviews at Metal Archives, a fan based review site.
