Nothing yet. I'm looking for a job, but as for a career I'm not sure.

I'd like to do something involving nature/the outdoors. Maybe work for a park. I'm also looking at related volunteer opportunities to get ideas.

Work in Hifi and TV sales, but really want to leave.  Currently studying film and TV production and am almost up to the point where I think I can justify getting paid to do it for a living.  Here's hoping that happens by the end of the year!

But hey, work to live, not live to work right?

You know the guy who uses his kung fu to defend the apple store from monkeys?  I'm that guy.

At least, that's what I tell my children.

I'm glad you are still doing that, I can't pass a popular chain restaurant without thinking of that.

I've been in the computer maintenance and support business for 30 years .  I'm the Technical Support Manager where I work now.  I supervise the Help Desk and act as second tier support.     I too would really like to change careers, but I'm 55 and don't know what I could do that someone would pay me for.

I work in a stupid restaurant making milkshakes and washing dishes.  I hate it, but on the other hand, quite like it.  If only for the fact that I know a bit more about business than the manager, but turned the job of manager down cause I didn't wanna do it.  I also like the fact that my job's set right now, cause I'm able to run two stations in a supremely busy restaurant that's making close to $100,000 a week and know things that NO other employee knows how to do.  For example, we have soft serve ice cream machines (like the kind you'd see at McDonald's, Dairy Queen and on the ice cream trucks), and I'm the only person in a group of 50 employees with any knowledge of how they work, how to clean them properly, etc.  The manager doesn't even know.  I get paid accordingly.

I am looking to switch jobs, but it's overall a fun place to work with a bunch of pretty girls to bide my time.  Lots of parties at night too.

My title is Portfolio Administrator for Highline Capital Corp.  But, what with wanting to pay off debts and get to Ireland some day, I also do test scoring for Measured Progress most weeknights, depending on the contracts - standardized test scoring for public school systems all over the country.
I still have the dream of one of my film projects breaking out somehow, and have high hopes that "Oscar Bones" will get some film festival recognition that could lead to more paid media work.  "The Future Belongs to Undead Gods" may be more commercial, so who knows - I'll take it anywhere it comes -

I work as an offshore crab fisherman. It's one of the most dangerous jobs in the world. I am looking for a new job right now though as the pay has severely decreased over the years. Plus I have an university education and feel I'm wasting a ton of skills working an hard labour job.

Currently I'm a Communication Officer with the local PD. I answer 911 calls, run warrant checks, process missing persons reports, etc. Probably the strangest call I've taken so far was from a fellow who had a 12 foot alligator show up behind his business.

I've been doing this for about three months and am lovin' it. Next up, I get to learn to dispatch officers in the field.

And I occasionally get paid to toot on my bassoon. Just the other day I was playing in Chippewa Square (where the park bench scenes for FORREST GUMP were filmed!) with some friends and a tourist came up and gave us six bucks!

Something I always like to say (especially to children for the sole purpose of confusing them) is as follows:

Me:  "How old are you?"

Kid:  "Eight."

Me:  "When I was your age I was nine."

This is usually followed by various facial expressions and stammering by the kid who is trying to figure out whether this could possibly be true.

Well, technically I'm a student...  But recently I've been doing some video editing for a documentary that's being made by a friend of a friend.  It's a long story, but the person who filmed the documentary isn't really up on all of the new video editing software.  (His last experience was with S-VHS editing!  :buggedout: )  So, I'm doing the work and he directs.

Honestly, it's pretty fun and I am getting paid.  So I'm not complaining at all! :teddyr:

I am FILTHY RICH AND DO AS I DAMN WELL PLEASE!!!   Nah, just kidding.  I got hurt at work in February of this year and have been out on workers comp.  I have had tests done ( MRI, CAT SCAN, AND EMG)  detailing how I majorly screwed up my back.  My hubby, Bill (bless his heart) does all the heavy duty stuff like cleaning, laundry, vaccuming etc. for me.  I still do most of the cooking ... I just can't lift the heavy pots or put things in or taken things out of the oven.  Bill helps me with that. I feel so useless sometimes. :bluesad:

I"m the night auditor at a hotel.  I don't mind the job, it's the best hotel I've ever worked at (and I've worked at five including this one).  It's just that I only make minimum wage, get 32 hours a week, and, despite having a Bachelor's degree in IT, I can't seem to get anything else right now.

So, I'm hunting for another/second job.  I'm hoping to take a Graphic Design class in the fall at a local college, but I dunno if I can scrape together enough dough for it.

Other than that, the work isn't too bad, it's usually quiet most nights until I have to do the audit and set out breakfast.

Bless you all. Whatever you do. Wherever you are, You the people who make this world the fine place it is.

As for myself, I'm retired. After working at the same job for over 27 years, that, and my age, allowed me to retire with a pension that lets me do almost everything I want, when I want.

I still have to watch my expenses, as I still have a large credit card bill to pay off. Which I'm paying off. And I have an used car loan, which I'm also paying off, but I'm so glad that I'm finally out of the rat race, and I can answer to no man but myself for the first time.

I would have to say that the best part of my job is helping people.  The worst part is delivering bad news.   :(    Fortunately you guys here are totally crazy and are always good for a laugh.    :teddyr:

I'm retail sales.  I have always enjoyed talking to customers meeting new people.  I also like that my pay is in my hands to an extent.  The more I sell the more I make, always a nice incentive to improve and learn.
