Some Speculate Animal Is Legendary Chupacabra; Others Say It's A Fox

MILWAUKEE -- Some Waukesha County residents are wondering what they've been seeing in their back yards. A woman from Wales snapped a photograph of an animal in her yard recently. There have been different theories as to what the image shows. Some have speculated that the animal is a "chupacabra" -- a legendary creature rumored to prey on goats. The woman told 12 News she talked to officials at a local wildlife center who told her the animal is likely a red fox with mange, a skin disease caused by parasitic mites.

It's a red fox. Poor thing.  :bluesad:

Animals change their body shapes drastically when their coats are missing.  Foxes are odd as well because they (normally) look dog-like to us and behave and move more like cats.  It is incongrous.  So I can imagine a pelt-less fox would be something that looks very weird, wandering in your back yard.

Not to be the naysayer, but I'm not so sure of it being a fox...it looks too feline, but there again, the ears are too canine, and not as straight as those of a cat.

There are several species of hairless cats that strongly resemble this creature. This could be someone's escaped pet.  Not too many people are that familiar with such exotic pets, thus the possible misnderstanding of what it is..

Other than that, it's anyone's guess.

Definitely looks like some type of animal suffering from mange...

The face looks too triangular and pointed to be a cat.  Looks like a fox with mange, the lack of a big fluffy tail makes it look weird.  The picture is pretty grainy, which no doubt adds to the strange mottled appearance of the skin.

That's the great mystery, just what is it?

Just as we have mysteries here on the land, (as this one) I'd like to think that somewhere, a long slender serpentine creatures slowly slithers thru the murk of a deep Scottish loch....it's cool to just imagine such a thing.

But of course!  An evil sorceror-king has to have some mysteries to ponder as he goes about waylaying The Nine and their followers....
