Another thread made me think to ask this. Has anybody watched all 50 movies in this collection. If so, what are the best? I've seen some of them already, but of the others, it's not always easy picking a good one. Quite a few duds with great titles in the mix.
I haven't seen them all, but I'm working on it. I recently watched MANIAC (1934) - - see my separate thread - - and I highly recommend it if you like really bad movies in the tradition of Ed Wood. On the other end of the spectrum, THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME is excellent, if you are a fan of silent Lon Chaney, Sr. movies.
There's another cool one from that series called Chilling Classics which has quite a few more recent films including Peter Jackson's Bad Taste, Driller Killer, Deep Red, and everybody's favorite, Oasis of the Zombies.
How much does this run? I'd like a copy.

I agree with Menard - - CHILLING CLASSICS is a better set than HORROR CLASSICS. As for cost, I have bought some of these sets on Deep Discount DVDs website for under $20. You can buy them from various other sources, including Best Buy, for about $19.95 - $24.95. I have the following 50 movies sets:
* ALL STARS (mostly made-for-TV movies from the 1970s, including GET CHRISTIE LOVE!)
* HOLLYWOOD LEGENDS (mostly movies from the 1930s and 1940s, but also 3 or 4 movies from more recent decades)
* HORROR CLASSICS (mostly black & white horror movies, some from the silent era)
* SCI-FI CLASSICS (a mixture of black & white and color movies, including some dubbed Gamera and Hercules movies)
* MYSTERY CLASSICS (black & white movies from the 1930s, 40s and 50s, including some Dick Tracy, Sherlock Holmes and Bulldog Drummond films)
* CHILLING CLASSICS (mostly color movies from the 1970s and 1980s, including CATHY'S CURSE, DRIVE-IN MASSACRE, THE MILPITAS MONSTER, and a few already mentioned in this thread)
I'd say that about 75 - 80% of these movies are VHS quality or slightly better. The other 20 - 25% have some pixillation, fuzzy sound or washed out color. But for the price and the fact that most of the movies have pretty good picture and sound quality, you can't go wrong. I just wish they had widescreen versions of the movies that were filmed in widescreen aspect ratios, but I guess I can't complain for an average cost of about 40 cents per movie.
Just bought CHILLING CLASSICS last week, but haven't had the chance to view any yet. Some good ones in this set. Out of the 50 films I only have seen 15 of the titles previously, so it was a good purchase at $20. Thats about .57 cents per film for me. Not a bad catch.
