Title: Heathers DVD on Anchor Bay
Post by: PoorLogic on January 14, 2002, 10:58:10 PM
Anyone purchased the cult film "Heathers" on DVD from Anchor Bay? I purchased mine about 4 months ago and it played fine, then out of nowhere, my dvd player would display a message of "Check disc" when played. I spoke with 4 other people who had the exact same problem - I was wondering if anyone on this board might of had this same problem.

I sent the DVD back to Anchor Bay and had a replacement sent back to me 4 weeks later. I know Anchor Bay had the same problems with the Opera DVD, still - I find it strange that the DVD worked fine for 3 months then craped out.

Probably a dvd time code program error.

I've read quite a few threads on other message boards on the topic of DVD rot.  Apparently a number of Anchor Bay DVD have had this problem--a manufacturing defect apparently--that will allow a disc to play fine for a while, then inexplicably stop playing.  Sometime a brown coffee-like stain is reported on the disc.

In addition to the Heathers and Opera discs, FRANKENSTEIN CREATED WOMAN and THE WITCHES have also been reported as having this problem.  If you have any problems, you can go here to report it:
