Title: Anyone ever heard of Mad Movies by the LA Connection in the 80's?
Post by: loyal1 on March 18, 2006, 10:23:14 PM
It was an old TV I use to watch as a kid with my parents.  They had one old VHS of bad quality, but we watched again and forgot how hilarious that show was!  A Shirley Temple possesed by the devil, now that's entertainment! :)

It's an old TV show that was on Nick at Nite.  (well not too old, only the 80's).  They dub over classic movies and sci fi's and edit them down to a half hour long.  I think it's way funnier than MST3K.  Here are a couple of great quotes I like:

From The Little Princess with Shirley Temple:

Shirley to possed doll: "Is there anything else I can do to satisfy your heathen blood thirst!>"
Lenore the Demon Doll: Yeah, get me a cup of coffee and a cheese danish!"

Butler to shirley: (He is trying to exorcixe her demons and they do a little song and dance together) "Walk like a jerk across the floor, this will summon the demon Lanore. Look in the mirror and straighten your tie if you tie it too tight you will die... Stay clear of soup that;s made from peas...And then you say, evil spirits go back to cleaveland! Is it working? Is it working?
Shirley: (grabbing her throat) "I can feel it leaving. YAKKK"

From A Star is Born:

Lady to Ester: "There are plenty of bulgy eyed, scraggly haired, flat-chested women out there just like you and we'll find you a man, or something darn close"

Stormin Norman: "What is my address anyway? " (thumbing through phone book) "Needlebaum? Nishiama? Norman? Norman! Right here. Say, I live in a pretty nice neighborhood! Ah, that was exausting" (grabs liquor bottle from off his bed) "Move over Genie, I need a nap!"

Ester to bald Justice of the peace: (Wearing an awful black hat sticking up every which way) "I'm sorry for my hat exploding earlier and blowing your hair off."

manager of hotel scratching his bald head doing a crossword puzzle: "Hmmmmm, what's a 4 letter word for hairless?"

Stormin Norman to Ester: (getting ready to change in the camper) "I'm a little shy so don't look!"
Ester, in the middle of cooking: "Get me a horse a real big horse and a great big kangaroo and let me yahoo, yahoo, yaaahoooo." (the camper stops short and drops the steak on the floor) "Ohhhhh! It's all burnt and dirty!"
Stormin Norman: "Hey I told you not to look!"

Judge to drunk man: You have been charged with dancing and twirling in the streets.:
Drunk: "Imma a ballerina (burp)"

Yes, Yes Yes!!
God, my wife  & I loved this show so much --
All of them were good, but the one we continue to quote is the scene from "The Lost World" where the fighting dinosaurs are a moron Tyrannosaur & an old Jewish man Tricerotops.  The Tyrannosaur gets on the Tricerotops' back & tries to kill it --
Tyrannosaur;  "Horsie!  Horsie!
Tricerotops:  "I'm not a horsie, you idiot, vat do I look like?
Ty:  "horsie!!
etc. etc.
Whenever wife and I see something really stupid going on, eg.  skate punks trying to jump a bridge on their boards, we say:  "Horsie!"
Thankyou Mad Movies!!!

I am so glad to hear I'm not alone...I also looked on IMDB and found some info and others like us who love it (not many but some)

I can just hear the horsie bit now...wish i saw that one!  My parents, my uncle and I might go in on the complete set for Christmas,  It's expensive but I think it's worth it in the long run. Wish there was a better way though.
