THE LEGEND OF THE EIGHT SAMURAI (1983) (http://imdb.com/title/tt0086244/)[/url] - This a good fantasy samurai film directed by Kinji Fukasaku who also directed THE GREEN SLIME (1968), MESSAGE FROM SPACE (1978), and BATTLE ROYALE (2000). Sonny Chiba even has a role in this unusual Japanese film. You'll like the sets, images, and characters as 8 Samurai gather to help a princess take on a clan of the undead. Some strange moments in this film. Nice addition for anybody's collection.

Awful, awful movie. It was actually good enough as a time waster until the end.
After the samurai all died so that Princess Stupid b***h could reclaim her throne, she just poo-pooed that idea and ran off with Dumbass. (I don't remember any of the names.) There haven't been many ending that p**sed me off so much as that one. I knew that most of them were going to die but I figured at least Princess Stupid b***h would get her throne back and Dumbass would go off adventuring. Nope!
Stupid, $#@! movie.
LOL, Well some how I managed to enjoy the film a lot. You might have a point about the ending. How about the occasional 80's music that slips in when the young hero is riding horseback? That really seems out of place Phew. Still a great film.
Even though the eight characters are referred to as Ninja through the whole movie and not Samurai.
Had to love Chiba's heroic death scene.....
How about the son of the evil queen. He was quite a creepy figure and then to have that full mother/son kiss. This was a wild film.
About half of the Samurai were hard enough to tell apart. Though the inflatable snake was great...
Look! I also carry one of the amazing glowing marbles. Did they borrow them from the prop box from Hawk the Slayer or vice versa?
I see you wield useless trivia like a katana. I too have that skill.
