I guess NIGHT OF THE LEPUS wasn't so dumb after all . . .
Jeez, that thing looks about the size of my dogs, although I suspect a bit of wide-angle lens trickery is exaggerating it. Just the same, I've never heard of rabbits that big.
He's holding it close to the camera to make it look bigger, the same as fishermen will do with their catch.
Even so, it's obviously one huge rabbit.
surely at some point someone must have made a bad movie titled "Night Of The Incredible Giant Were-Rabbit" or something similar...it has to exist.
This bunny is 100% real -- It is of a known breed called a Continental Giant. It eats 4 lbs of cabbage and rabbit food a day. The breed is known for its docility -- Thank God!! The biggest Continental Giant known is 37lbs. This rabbit here of Karl's is a mere 22lbs.
Try to pick up the June, 2006 issue of Fortean Times magazine for more pictures & other rabbit tales.

I'm confused.
Is this "Continental Bunny" a Were-Rabbit (from the Wallace and Gromit movie) or a mutated rabbit from "Night of the Lepus"?
I think bigger breeds of animals are generally more docile than their smaller relatives. Like comparing a Jack Russell Terrier to a St. Bernard.
I wonder what the Continental Giant is bred for? I suppose a bigger rabbit would be desirable for both more meat and a bigger pelt. From a meat standpoint, I wonder how economical it is (food eaten vs. weight gained) compared to smaller rabbits.
Covered in chocolate...I bet they taste great.
Reminds me of the time when I was little riding with my Grandma in the car on the way to church when we spot a dead rabbit in the road and she says 'There's the Easter Bunny".
Dude....cruel grandma.
To me , rabbit is not "Kosher", but i bet i'd make good dog/cat food. And the pelts are warm clove lineing.
But, yikes! Even a 22lb killer bunny would keep Arther and his Knights at bay!
Mind you, that was a MAN-EATING rabbit, unlike this one.
True, but maby they just start with the vegies....

Damn!
I'd like to put one of those rabbits in a headlock and see what it does.
I wonder if it would put up a good fight.
Nice bunny!
Rabbits are pacifists, it would most likely beg for you to stop torturing him.
