I was inspired to write this post after someone in another post about the asymmetrical shape of Lucy Liu's face.
There is this Earthlink commercial which features Earthlink employees talking about how good they do their jobs. Near the end they have a group standing in a cubical with an Asian lady in front speaking. Her left eye is slightly crossed and it really bugs the crap out of me. It's one of those weird things where for some reason it hurts me to look at her, you know like watching eye or dental surgery makes you have the sensation of it happening to you, but at the same time you can't turn away. It makes my eye hurt looking at her.
I pointed it out to my wife and some time later the commercial came on and I hear her yell, "You had to tell me about the damned eye!"
Does anything like this get to you?
Trek,
I know exactly what you are talking about. That chick's eye gets on my nerves as well, so does the stupid "geeks vs nerd" speech the guy gives in one of the scenes with her.....
I've known a few people who've had one eye go one way while the other is normal.
It can be an awkward situation, especially when you first meet them.
You don't quite know how to look at them properly.
You want to appear to them like you see them "normally" but your mind is debating on how to "really" look them in the eye/eyes without offending them.
Do you look at the good eye without glancing at the "bad" one?
I look at both and tell myself that the one eye isn't f**ked up.
It can be somewhat disconcerting.

As far as I know, it's a genetic thing.
Anybody know what the medical term for this is?
There's the French lady that transplanted dead skin into his face because a dog ripped her original skin from it, and now she looks uglier than ever.
I mean it. She looks like Sloth in a wig.
People who carry their small dogs around in little bags all the time. It really bugs me. Now I can understand carrying them around in the bag when they have to go certain places, but not all the freaking time.
People who like movies like "Hostel" and "Haute Tension" bug me and worry me.
I agree with you Superfan. Eli Roth seemed really cool and knowlegeable when he was a panelist on 'Bravo's 100 Scariest Movie Moments' back in 2004, but now he just seems like a complete elitist smartass jerk - the kind that makes people just want to smack him. And about 'High Tension', that's another story. I was so disappointed by that one.

Superfan,
In that case, I should worry the HELL out of you.
I meant it, because it's a sick, twisted, disgusting movie.
I can picture the Columbine kids and Jeffrey Dahmer liking those movies, but not regular people.
Bah, isn't sick and twisted part of the reason why a lot of us like badmovies in the first place?
I for one haven't seen High Tension, but I'd like to, and I enjoyed Hostel, but didn't think it was really that sick and twisted. It was kind of a sexier, more 'American' and sensationalised Wolf Creek to me, and as such I enjoyed it, but didn't find it anywhere near as creepy or frightening as Wolf Creek [both films in many respects make for a good comparison.]
But as always, people disagree on many things.
If you think 2Hostel" is sexy, you are one f**ked up guy.
Stay away from me, you sadistic psycho.

Plan9,
You found me out. I am a serial killer/cannibal. Damn you for revealing the real me!!!!
So I assume that all of the other people who went and saw Hostel, and made it the number 1 movie it's opening weekend are all psychos as well?
I honestly would bet money on the fact that you haven't seen either High Tension nor Hostel.

I gave fair warning about insults prior to this. Account locked.
That was a pretty poor statement Plan9...I haven't seen either of them yet but am a huge horror/gore fan...it doesn't make me any less normal because I like to see fake movies of this sort, just as people that saw the above mentioned movies aren't f**ked up because they saw and liked them.
You know I'm not too worried about Plan9 being insulting [I wasn't actually phased by it] but it does annoy me about how uninformed some people are. If you are going to argue a point about some movies, at least know what you're talking about.
Obviously anyone who has seen Hostel, and perhaps Wolf Creek, will understand exactly what I meant about Hostel being the sexier of the two, if of course you were paying any attention at all to the first half of the movie at all, where there was nothing but gratituitous T and A.
It just seems like a waste of breath to explain it really, but it is kind of funny how people jump to conclusions [like people who bop up and down and chant for blood over something they have just leaped onto the bandwagon of, and not actually know the details of the issue they are complaining about]
Anyway, shall we carry on?
Yes; let's carry on, and get back to picking on Dean and his *G* word fixation. (http://www.smileys.ws/smls/action/00000042.gif)
