Title: Hercules (1983)
Post by: Andrew on April 23, 2006, 03:43:10 PM
I have lost count of the number of emails I have received suggesting this film.  It really is a dazzling display of funky costumes, bad dialog, and inappropriate special effects.

This inspires me to watch Hercules (1958) which sits on my shelve even as we speak. Perhaps tonight................

For some reason, this review makes me want to sing "Hooray for Santy Claus".  I have no idea what that says about my state of mind at this moment.

Has anyone even seen Lou Ferrigno since this film came out? He seemed to dissappear like Mr. T.

He made an appearance on the short lived Fox series Bonsai! a few years ago. He was pitted against a priest and a rabbi in a stationary bicycle challenge to see who would win the soul of a baby.

Actually, Lou recently joined the L.A. County Sheriff's Dept. as a reserve officer.

Interesting. Wonder if he's still built up?

He also recently did a cameo in an independent, gay-themed (not porn), superhero movie called SURGE OF POWER.

And its not Porn? Ooooooo-kay!

Hey, is Lou dubbed in HERC? That means its a double wammy. His acting, and the dubber acting.Kinda like  the anti-Proust/Jones.

Amazingly not.  The superhero just happens to be gay.

Yeah he still works out, but is a tad more streamlined. I don't know how many of you know this, but Lou has also done some regional and touring plays, notably playing Lenny in 'Of Mice & Men'. He and his wife Carla are also personal trainers, as is now his daughter.

I finally got to reading this.  The early story sounds a bit like Superman!  Also, do you think Golan and Globus ever looked at each other and said "You know, maybe our quality is not QUITE what we think it is?"
