Is it me, or is everyone in Hollywood using some variant of the Heckler & Koch G36 nowadays? Just saw Tom Cruise with one in MI:III

They use the carbine variant on Stargate SG-1, it seems to be Ben Browder's choice of weapons. Of course, they use a whole buffet of weapons (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tau'ri_technology) that show.
