Title: Even more remake nonsense
Post by: Dr. Whom on May 03, 2006, 06:53:59 AM
Apparently a remake of Clash of the Titans is being considered.

And of You Can't Stop The Music!!!!!

Will there be no end to this madness?

I read yesterday that someone is remaking Red Sonya. They had a good excuse, the first one wasn't such a great movie so it's begging to be remade.

Same thing could be said about Clash of the Titans....

I've never seen all of Red Sonja.
After watching about 15 minutes of it, I turned the channel.

I wonder who would be a good replacement for Brigitte Nielsen?
Any ideas?

I love 'Clash of the Titans'. Sure some of the acting is cheesy (mostly on Hamlin's part), but the other elements are very sound, especially Beverly Cross' screenplay and the work done by Ray Harryhausen. If it were remade, that would be a travesty.

Speaking of Red Sonja, I was wondering if anyone has ever heard of TV pilot from the late '70s that was based on the comics.

Before discovering the internet, I used to collect vintage Playboys, and I came across a one paragraph article mentioning that someone had filmed a pilot for a TV series starring an actress named Wendy Penny. I think the issue was either from '78 or '79, but I'm not sure, & I've never been able to find out any more about it.

Speaking of classic Playboys *and* Red Sonja, Brigitte Nielsen's first appearance in Playboy was a publicity spread for Red Sonja in the September '85 issue, which is also noted for publishing photos of Madonna from five years earlier, as well as being the last issue to be bound by a staple.

And while I've got my mind in the gutter in a thread about remakes, I... Well, maybe I'd better save that for another thread.

Speaking of remake nonsense, James Cameron wants to remake Titanic.  Give that time to sink in.

I just wanna know when someone will remake "Manos" the Hands of Fate.

I saw a trailer the other night at the theater for a remake of THE OMEN and the trailer is an exact copy of the trailer for the original film. Only difference was there was no narration.

THAT, methinks, is a task for the members of this forum. It is time we got together and left our mark on History
