Title: Didja run across this one, Andrew?
Post by: Fearless Freep on June 19, 2006, 09:26:13 PM
Just curious of while you were picking up "Horror Of Party Beach", you ever came across Creature From The Haunted Sea (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0054768/), which manages to spoof both similar monster movies and spy movies at the same time...

I have it on DVD  and for awhile it was my "pop in something stupid as I drift off to sleep" choice.

Hey, another movie with a carpet monster with ping pong ball eyes.  Loved the spy spoof plot.

At least this one had the common sense to say "If you're monster has ping ong eyes, *don't* try to take yourself seriously"

Own it.
Love it.
Watch it often.
The song is especially touching --
A genuinely psychotic picture, with its bizarro beatnik lovers who communicate through animal sounds and the "spy guy" and his paranoid solutions to the small problems of life:  "Hey!  We could swim there through shark-infested waters -- noone would follow us!!".
Truely one to cherish and admire --

I do have this one and have even seen it on the big screen before at B-Fest.  Well, at least some of it, because it was on in the early morning hours when I often catch some Z's.

"The Horror of Party Beach" is more fun to me, but I think that might be from the film makers being more serious.  I mean, hey, they really were making an edgy monster movie about killer bass/men attacking people in CT.

As if on cue, if you happen by a supermarket checkout, glance at the latest "Weekly World News"
