The Burning, Alone in the Dark, and Pieces.Thanx
Pieces is an absolute classic. From the opening scene (after the prologue) of a chick awkwardly skateboarding through a plate glass window to the final "shock," Pieces is a four slime movie. No doubt. I love it. Directed by the same guy who did "Pod People," featured on my favorite MST3K ever (Trumpy rules).
The Burning is a true slasher classic, very gruesome. Alone In The Dark isnt as gruesome but still pretty cool. Pieces is, well it's a bad, bad movie, perfect for this site. It has a long skateboarding scene that has nothing to do with anything, it's forgottin about.
...is an okay slasher flick. Nothing too original. Instead of a Last Girl they have a Last Guy. That's about it.
So, if you like slasher pictures, you might enjoy this one. It is NOT "Halloween" by any stretch, but still...
If you don't like slasher pictures, this one won't change you're opinion.
Assuming you mean the Jack (Dracula) Palance/Donald (Loomis) Pleasence/Martin (Mission: Impossible) Landau/Dwight (Howling Mad!) Schultz "Alone in the Dark", I can honestly say that it is an above average slasher flick. Every single actor I listed above has been in better movies, of course. Still, I think AitD has some small charm.
