The last few days were a blur. We went househunting (rental, that is) around Baltimore and put something like 1000 miles on the car. Exhausting. However, we should have a signed lease tomorrow so it was fruitful.
In any case, I wish this movie had been a blur:

I wish the clip you put up went like a blur! And I'll bet that was the best part!
Great review!
I vaguely remember seeing this when I was a kid way back when.
(one thing I noticed...it says the year "1991" up at the top of your review but this film was made in 1981)
I hate to say it, but this movie makes COLOSSUS AND THE AMAZON QUEEN (http://www.badmovies.org/bbs/read.php?2,107920) look that much better.
How much better Gerry?

I would think on a number scale a -4 compared to the -7 that Heartbeeps brought in.
Hey, isn't that Paul Bartel there in one of the stills?
Also, Andrew, what are you doing in Baltimore?

That's probably pretty close, though I might bump it up to a -2 just for the gender reversal stuff in COLOSSUS (which I found quite amusing).
I can't remember if I've seen this, or parts of it before. Based on Andrews review, I'll chalk it up to repression.
I saw it on HBO rotation back in the 80's. My pre-adolescent memories are less bad than this. But now I have Don Johnson singing "Heeeartbeeps, I'm looking for some Heartbeeps."

Bad comedies are bad news and that is the truth. Also tried to watch "Hysterical" the other night and that did not go over well with the wife. She finds bad humor about as funny as I do.
You really have to wonder why somebody did not suddenly realize that this was turning out to be a terrible movie when they were making it. I mean, even in small chunks (like they would experience during the filming) it had to be obvious.
Yes, Peter, as I pointed out in the "User Comments" section of the review, that is Paul. Bartel in one of the stills. He'd do much better with his next film, "Eating Raoul."
Two words.

I understand that he has been named to direct the remake.
(Now, that would be enough to send a grown man screaming into the night.)
You know, funny as it is, I'd probably prefer Uwe Boll to do the remake, that way he's wasting his time on that pile of nonsesense and not ruining better material, so in my book if he's going to be making movies, he may as well be remaking a movie I don't really care about rather than adapting a source which I could care about...
I hate to be a nitpicker but I noticed another mistake Andrew.
On this page (http://www.badmovies.org/movies/index.html#anchorh) the film is given one slime drop but you actually gave it a skull.
Just thought I'd point that out.
This movie is nowhere as bad as its made out to be.
